Tees Transporter Bridge.
A cool, post-sunset glow provides the backdrop for this image of the bridge shortly before the structure's floodlighting is timed to switch on.
Taken from the Port Clarence side of the River Tees, this is a common perspective of Teesside's most famous landmark.
Completed in 1911 at a cost of £68,000 (£5.3 million at today's values), the bridge carries a travelling 'car' or 'gondola' beneath its superstructure, as an Act of Parliament decreed that the bridge should not obstruct river navigation.
