This image broke my record of standing in the same spot (virtually) in order to wait for the right light.
For 3 hours I prowled around this scene. The gathering clouds were heavy and fast moving from left to right, but they generated the occasional gap that simply needed to coincide with the weak winter sun setting over my right shoulder.
As ever in such situations, it was bitterly cold but, fortunately, I had prepared myself for that and was well-insulated.
Eventually, a small window of opportunity presented itself and everything came together.
