A ROSE AND A KISS

Montmartre.

This street performer outside Sacre-Coeur Basilica, who I observed alternating between statuesque rigidity or the occasional robotic adjustment of position, very occasionally decided to interact with a member of the public.

There was no indication of when he would respond, as he was usually minded to ignore or resist efforts to get him to move or make eye contact.

Maybe it was the sight of a purse catching his eye or even a pretty lady that sparked him into life.

Or perhaps, his usual indifference was all part of the attraction of his act.
