HUNTCLIFF AND SHIP INN, SALTBURN
Huntcliff is a well-known promontory situated on the north east coast at Saltburn-by-the-sea. It was previously utilised as a Roman watchtower and signalling station to ward off Anglo-Saxon raiders from Denmark and Germany.

The Ship Inn is renowned as an olde worlde, mid 1400s public house with original timbers and coal fires. Reputed to be haunted by several ghosts, it is situated close to the beach and enjoys plenty of maritime history, including use by local smugglers.
