Sculptured to capture the iconic moment at full time following the 1973 FA Cup Final, when Bob Stokoe raced across the Wembley turf to embrace his goalkeeper, Jim Montgomery, this statue outside the Stadium of Light has now become a regular pre-match meeting place for Sunderland fans.
Inscribed on the front plinth - "Bob Stokoe 1930-2004. Sunderland AFC Manager. The Man The 'Messiah' The Moment… 1973 FA Cup Final Winners Sunderland AFC v Leeds United 5th May 1973".
Inscribed on the rear plinth - "I didn't bring the magic. It's always been here... I just came back to find it." Bob Stokoe 4th May 1973".
