SOUTH GARE LIGHTHOUSE

The lighthouse at the head of the South Gare breakwater was built in 1884 and is a listed building.

It still operates using the original lenses and can be seen from a range of 50 km.

As can be seen from this image, it remains a popular location for sea-fishing and it has had more than its fair share of tragedies over the years during storm conditions.

Location: Teesmouth, UK.
